General Gym Rules

Safety first - never endanger yourself or others
Always follow directions - when in doubt, ask a coach!

• Always wait inside the building for an adult to pick you up
• Bare feet, socks or gymnastics shoes only in the gym area
• Long hair must be worn in a ponytail
• No running in the gym except when directed by a coach
• No food, chewing gum or drinks allowed on the gym floor (this includes water bottles)
• No jewelry of any kind during class
• No gymnastics while waiting for class to start in the waiting area
• TELL A COACH ANY TIME YOU INJURE ANY PART OF YOUR BODY
• Please return ice packs to the freezer when you are done so they are there for other students

 

Make up Policy
  • PLEASE DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD IF YOU PLAN ON MISSING MORE THEN 2 OR MORE CLASSES. WE WILL NOT CREDIT YOU FOR MISS CLASSES. MISS/MAKE-UPS CLASSES DOES NOT CARRY OVER TO THE NEXT SESSION. THANK YOU FOR COOPERATION. 

  • Maintaining regular class attendance will provide optimal training for your child as well as continuity within the group.

  • We understand that there are times when your child will be absent.  

  • Make-Ups are not guaranteed.

  • You must sign-up in the office to schedule a make-up class​

  • No make-ups the last week of class/ Parent Obersvation Week

  • No refunds or credits for missed classes.

  • Please call if your child is going to be absent (to accommodate make-ups).

  • In the event there is only one student in a class due to absences, the class time may be reduced to prevent fatigue to the child.

***Due to their already discounted hourly cost,  make-ups are not available for children enrolled in NonCompetitive and Team programs.

What to wear?

 

  • A leotard is the suggested wear for girls ages 5 & up.

  • T-shirts and shorts are acceptable too.

  • Tights are acceptable.

  • Bare feet, cotton socks or gymnastics shoes only in the gym.

  • Hair away from face, in a ponytail.

  • No jewelry (studs earrings are ok) 

  • Boys can wear t-shirts & shorts/sweat pants (not too baggy).

  • Shirts Tuck in

  • No buckles or zippers.

  • Lost & Found is located in the waiting Room. Anything left over will be  donated on the first of every month. Sam's Academy of Gymnastics and Tumbling  is not responsible for items left behind.

Communication
  • We would love to hear from you! 

  • Let us know what we're doing right, what you'd like to see change, and suggestions for improvement. 

  • As a valued customer, your ideas may be implemented for better service to you.

  • We use e-mail regularly to advertise special events, programs and sales in our pro-shop!

Where to wait?

 

  • Children need to wait in the waiting room and wait for instructors to greet them and take them into the gym.

  • For safety reasons children and parents are not allowed in the gym or on the equipment without an instructor.



Observation Area
  • Parents are welcome to stay and observe and relax in our waiting rooms. Please enjoy Free Wi-Fi and also complimentary Coffee in the coffee bar are just for being a member at Sam's Academy Of Gymnastics. 

  •  Parents are not allowed in the gym or on the gym floor.

  • Please be courteous to all viewers and converse in soft voices. Please try not to talk about other gymnast in the class as you don't know who's around you. Plus its not nice. We are here to encourage ALL students to do their BEST! 

  • Parents are not allowed to COACH from the waiting room.

  • PLEASE, help us by abiding to these rules. Thank you.

Private Lessons

 

  • We offer private lessons to supplement your child's class with one-on-one instruction.

  • Let us know if you are interested in private instruction and we'll be happy to schedule a time with you.

  • We maybe running a special! 

Questionable Weather

 

  • We will post all class cancelation on the home page of our website. 

  •  If the weather clears on a school closing day, afternoon & evening classes may still be held.

  • If Berlin schools have an early dismissal due to bad weather, please call to see if classes are still running.

  • For Saturday class status or if in doubt.

  • Please call (860) 471-5940 to hear a recorded message to see if classes are running as scheduled.

  • Snow day make-up class will be your responsibility. Please schedule your make-up at the front desk. 

  • No refunds or credits for weather cancellations.​

Tuition Payment
  • Full Tuition payments are to be paid one week before the start of the session. ​​​

  • A $10.00 late fee will be applied for late payments unless other payment arrangements have been made.

  • Please call the office Mon. – Fri. from 4-7pm if you need account info.

  • The preferred form of payment is Check or Cash. We do also accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover

  • Accounts must be up-to-date in order to enroll in the next session.

  • Refunds only given before child attends second class (minus the nonfundable registration fee). No refunds after second class.

  • Credits may be given for next session, depending on YOUR situation. Non-Refundable Registration Fee & Deposits are not refundable. Remembers this is to hold your spot in the class. 

Awards

To reward hard work during the sessions, every students that attend a session will receive a beautiful gymnastics medel  on the last day of class of the session (during parents oberservation week).  Students who paticipate in the end of the year gymnastics  show in session 4 will recieve a trophy durning the show. If your gymnast does not paticipate in the end of year show, gymnasts will recieve a paticipant medels for the session. You can pick up your medel after the show during certain weeks. We will not be giving away any awards out before the gymnastics show.  It is your responsiblity to pick the medel up during those weeks. Sam's Academy will not be "holding" medels. So Pick them up for your special gymnast.
